Mau Sponsorship (updated August 12, 2010)
Many cats have to wait some time until they get adopted. Sadly,
there are also other cats at EMRO that are not adoptable. Some are
feral (wild) while others have health issues which preclude them
from living in a domestic environment. But they obviously still
need food and medical care. Caring for any of these cats is made
possible with sponsorship money we receive each month. Also check
out our Adoptable EMRO Cats, KSA Cats, or Off-site Mau & Non-Mau Cats - they are all also
sponsorable!
We have also built a small garden area around the shelter for the
ferals to hide in upon release (courtesy of a donation of Aida Marina
of CA, USA!). If you are interested in sponsorship, you can sponsor
one or more cats through:
Sponsors will have their names listed (if wished) by the cat of
their choice, or they can leave it to EMRO to decide which funds
go to which cat, based on need. Please
contact sponsor@emaurescue.org
for donations, sponsorship or more information.
EMRO thanks those below who are donating monthly to general
shelter sponsorship and have not yet decided which cat to sponsor
or just wish to donate to general expenses. Please note that we
can use more than one person for sponsoring each cat to help with
expenses (estimated to be over USD 50/month per cat!).

AUC Tahrir Campus Cats Looking for New Homes!
The American University's Tahrir (downtown) campus has been sold and 20 of the lovely cats below have been left behind. A kind Japanese student tried to find adopters for these kitties by placing ads in the university newspaper, but the response was low - she only managed to re-home 4 cats. EMRO is assisting in adopting out some of these kitties by placing their photos and short bios on our web site. Please note that some of these kitties are semi-feral, but are tameable. Looking for an "educated" cat? Why not adopt one which which is people-friendly and who is currently residing on the empty AUC campus grouds?
Additionally, since some of these kitties may still be feral or semi-feral, EMRO is accepting donations for their needed spaying and neutering. If you are interested in sponsoring or making a small donation for spaying and neutering these lovely kitties, please contact info@emaurescue.org or sponsor@emaurescue.org.
Also, you may view our Non-Mau AUC cats, available for both adoption and sponsorship, under Non-Mau cats.
For more information, please contact Tomoko at tom203_kon@yahoo.com.
