EMRO's mandate is to rescue and rehome Native Maus of Egypt and long-haired Native Maus, and all intakes are at the sole discretion of the Founder, who can be contacted at info@emaurescue.org. Please note that EMRO, although a non-profit organization, is NOT government funded and relies solely on the donations and good will of those using its services. We are a small shelter and have very limited spaces for intakes. Pet quality Maus remain available through EMRO to anyone (whether local or international) interested in helping save a Mau, who satisfies our basic screening application, and who are able to pay for its expenses in order to get them to their new home (we operate on a cost-recovery basis).

Lovely Arabian Mau available in the USA!

Dash was rescued as a young kitty in Dubai in 2010 by his Rescuer. His Rescuer decided to foster him temporarily until he was socialized because living conditions for a very young kitten in Dubai were unfortunate. After a few months of socializing and care, Dash was ready to go to a loving home, but no one in Dubai would take him. He remained with his Rescuer. For the next couple of years, his Rescuer sought to find him a permanent loving home, without success. She is unable to permanently provide Dash with a home because she travels extensively. She is being transferred to Taiwan from Cairo, however, restrictions there are very intense to bring in a pet onto the island. The Rescuer does not wish to leave Dash in the unforbidding streets of Cairo since living conditions there are just as horrible as in Dubai. Dash's Rescer will be in the U.S. the beginning of July, but must return to Cairo on July 22nd. She is desperate to find a loving home, a caring family, and a good quality of life for Dash.

Sweet Dash is a neutered, short hair, male Arabian Mau. He has not been declawed, is current on his vaccinations, healthy teeth (due to dental cleaning), enjoys using a scratching post, and is Extremely Affectionate. Although Arabian, he has retained his Mau-like features of long legs, long body and tail, pointy ears, lovely green oval-shaped eyes, and long body and tail. Dash is described as a "bush cat", which means he loves to find dark places where he crouches down and watches the world from below. He is also described as a "grazer" when it comes to food consumption.

Lovely Cleopatra seeking Forever Home!

This lovely female, bronze Mau-mix is looking for a home in Cairo, Egypt. Her name is Cleopatra. Unfortunately, her owner was unable to take her home with him because the vaccination of rabies antibodies did not "take" in time for flight. She has been left behind with a temporary Foster Parent who is taking care of her.

Miracle Seeking Foster or Forever Homes!

When Miracle's Rescuer first found this kitty, she was extremely thin, and couldn't move because one of her back legs was very badly injured. Miracle was immediately taken to a Veterinarian who stated that Miracle had a broken hip. He also added he had seen this kitty weeks before and was told she had been hit by a motorcycle and required immediate surgery. The first Rescuer never returned and abandoned Miracle on the street, unattended. Fortunately, her second Rescuer cleaned Miracle, fed her, and provided her with medication until she got her strength back and recovered. Now, after 5 months, Miracle is a perfectly healthy cat who can walk, run, and play around like any other cat. :) This is what Love and Tender Care can do - perform miracles.

Unfortunately, Miracle's Rescuer is unable to keep her because her own family cat, a male, attacks her too strongly when playing, and believes her home is not the best place for her anymore. She is hoping to find either a Foster Home or a Forever Home to provide this lovely, loving little Miracle a safe haven, and a loving family. As you can see, Miracle would be a great addition to any home.

Momma & Kittens Seeking Foster or Forever Homes!

Two years ago, Momma's Rescuer saved her when she was only one-month-old and being beaten by Bedouin kids in "Sidi Ab Elrahman". This grateful kitten has been with her ever since. The only problem is the Rescuer did not get Momma fixed on time, and when Momma ran away and got pregnant, the Rescuer found herself with two additional kittens which she also has cared for during for the past three months. Unfortunately, the Rescuer is getting married, leaving for another country, and the house she will be residing has a strict "No Pets Allowed" rule. She is desperately seeking either Foster Home(s) or Forever Home(s), with loving families, for Momma and her two little ones.
